Ruhr I - Paragliding

A week ago, I took two days off for a short trip to the Ruhr area to take pictures of the historic mining industry buildings there.

On my way to Essen (where my hotel would be), I stopped at Zeche Ewald which is a former colliery - now remodeled into a cultural center.

From there, I took a walk onto the adjacent spoil pile Halde Hoheward. It is completely open to the public and now a recreation area with cycling paths and mountainbike trails.

There, I found a group of people practicing paragliding that let me take their pictures.
