Trip to Göttingen
This Monday, Jessie had to go to Göttingen for a language test. I took the day off to drive with her and brought the mountain bike to spend the day in the local forest.
I hadn’t really been to Göttingen yet (besides the train station), even though it’s just an hour and a half from Wolfsburg. The city center was small and clean but also nothing special, really. So I just grabbed lunch and then took off to the Stadtwald, where my tour would start.
After the first minute, I noticed that I had underestimated how hilly the forest was. So I huffed and puffed up the first hill and was greeted by the Bismarckturm:
Along the way, I saw animals small and large (at a game preserve)…
…and had to make sure that I didn’t run over this snail in the middle of the trail.
The extensive trail network included downhill sections, flow trails, and regular hiking paths. I only went on a few of them and there is a lot more to discover. If I lived in Göttingen, I’d definitely spend a lot of mountain biking time in there.
Maybe, there is going to be another opportunity to come back in the future.
If anyone is interested, this is the tour I took.
